Vishal (52*) & Fardeen (42) steer JC Four Oaks Spartans to a win in IDFC First Bank MCA BKC RC Members Premier League’22

Played at Somaiya Cricket Ground in Mumbai, JC Four Oaks Spartans opting to bat first posted a total of 171/4 in 20 overs. Opener Vishal Miglani scored 52* off 54 batting from start to end playing the anchors role while it was his opening partner Fardeen Malbarwala who provided a flying start scoring 42 off mere 13 balls. Fardeen smacked 4 sixes at a 300.00+ strike rate to turn the things around in no time as JC Four Oaks reached in a commanding position to defend their target.

Spottlightt Social Scorchers almost crossed the victory line courtesy Keyur Shah (61 runs off 45 balls) and Abhishek Jhaveri (75 off 55 balls) almost changing the course of the game. Both the players gave their best however Scorchers fell short of 3 runs in the penultimate 20th over as they ended their innings at 168/8 in 20 overs. Also it’s worth mentioning the efforts  Ashray Rao who bagged 2wkts conceeding just 5 runs in the 18th over followed by Skipper Rabindra who conceeded mere 2 runs in the last over bowling a crucial spell of 2/28 in 4 overs. Also it goes without saying about Sumiran Mehta also did exceptional glovework behind the stumps. Another memorable moment of the match was the brilliant catch at point by Ajay Valanju to dismiss the dangerous Abhishek Jhaveri who was batting on 75 and looking all set to finish the match.

Rabindra Jhunjhunwala shared with CricketgraphAbsolutely amazing game of cricket today. Learning is “Never ever ever give up”. Scorchers didn’t after the blitz by Falli, and then when Abhi and Keyur were batting they didn’t while chasing, and then Spartans didn’t (how the game changed in our favour in the 18/19 overs)!! Who would have imagined 19 in 18 balls with 9 wickets in hand could not be chased? Hats off to all those who played today, on both sides. To me Cricket is the true winner!!!
