Vishwakarma hat-trick leads Modern CC to easy victory in Kanga Knockout Tournament’22

 

Mumbai: An outstanding bowling spell by Ravi Vishwakarma who claimed 5 wickets for just 4 runs, including a hat-trick, which was the highlight of Modern Cricket Club’s solid 9-wicket victory against Pathare Prabhu Cricketers in a Group-A match of the MCA Dr. H.D. Kanga knockout cricket tournament 2022, and played at the Young Zorastrian ground, Azad Maidan.

Pathare Prabhu batsmen struggled and were bowled out cheaply for 36 runs in 21.2 overs. Sanket More played a good supporting role taking 3 wickets for 11 runs. Modern Cricket Club comfortably cruised to victory making 39 for the loss of one wicket in 3.3 overs.

In another first round match, Ritesh Punyerathi scored a century 114 runs and Samkit Shah half century 51 runs helped Crescent CC, Andheri defeat Indian Dynamite CC by 4 wickets at the Matunga ground.

Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation also enjoyed a successful first round defeating  Shri Shivaji CC by 7 wickets in another first round encounter at Sainath CC ground, Virar.

Brief scores: Hind Sevak CC 152 all out, 40.2 overs (Omkar Kanthe 41; Dhruvil Turakhia 4/45) lost to Kerawala Windsor CC 153 for 8 wickets, 33.2 overs (Nitin Bhalerao 64; Sai Nayak 3/22, Sushant Shinde 3/31). Result: Kerawala Windsor CC won by 2 wkts.

Shri Shivaji CC 205 for 6 wickets, 45 overs (Yashraj Kadam 47, Ketan Naik 41*, Kunal Shirke 41) lost to Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation 206 for 3 in 29.4 overs (Rugved Chaudhary 104, Harish Narvekar 69). Result: Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation won by 7 wickets.

Young National CC 267 all out, 45 overs (Suchit Devali 48, Madhav Kotak 44, Harshal Padwal 35*) beat Swastik Cricket Club 107 all out, 27 overs (Aftab Shaikh 33, Dhaval Panchal 7/38).  Result: Young National CC won by 160 runs.

Anjuman-I-Islam Institute SC 140 all out, 43 overs (Ashish Pal 40;  Omneel Jadhav 3/25) lost to S.F. Sassanian CC 143 for 5 wickets, 26.4 overs (Amit Dahiya 48, Rupesh Sonkar 41). Result: S.F. Sassanian CC won by 5 wkts.

Sports Promotion Group (Mumbai) 207 (including 16 penalty runs) for 9 wickets, 43 overs (Sunny Jaiswar 62; Neeraj Singh 4/27) beat Deccan CC (Kalyan) 105 all out, 31.1 overs (Vishal Hate 47). Result: Sports Promotion Group won by 102 runs.

Garfield Sports Club (Dahisar) 93 all out, 21 overs (Aman Vishwakarma 31; Azhar Khan 5/14, Tejas Palkar 4/39) lost to Young Boy’s CC 98 for 3 wickets, 11.4 overs. Result: Young Boy’s CC won by 7 wkts.

Rocket CC 193 all out, 42.3 overs (Manoj Pandey 44, Navin Sharma 41; Siddhant Welankar 3/19) beat Thane Friends Union 82 all out, 29.2 overs (Navin Sharma 3/20). Result: Rocket CC won by 111 runs.

Parsee Pioneer CC 101 all out, 34.5 overs (Harsh Patil 5/29) lost to Gay Cavaliers CC 102 for wicket, 9.4 overs (Deepak Shukla 51, Yash Dhuri 39*). Result: Gay Cavaliers CC won by 9 wkts.

Gallant CC 99 all out, 27.1 overs (Dinesh Yadav 4/19) lost to New Era CC 100 for 2 wickets, 22 overs (Vivan Nair 44). Result: New Era CC won by 8 wkts.

Youths Own Union CC 111 all out, 39.2 overs (Bhuvan Ranade 3/13) lost to Union CC 114 for 1 wicket, 15.1 overs (Suhrut Kadam 51, Pranav Sawant 33). Result: Union CC won by 9 wkts.

Rattlers CC 154 all out, 33.3 overs (Rakshit Singh 30; Shekhar Dalvi 3/25, Karan Patil 3/28) lost to Khandala CC 155 for 4 wickets, 24.1 overs (Vaibhav Sane 61*, Rupesh Kondalkar 32). Result: Khandala CC won by 6 wkts.

Indian Dynamite CC 254 all out, 41.2 overs (Prathmesh Nagotkar 46*, Nitesh Shinde 44, Shariq Sayed 37, Kush Modi 34) lost to Crescent CC, Andheri 258 for 6 wickets, 31.1 overs (Ritesh Punyerathi 114, Samkit Shah 51; Avnish Pale 3/45). Result: Crescent CC won by 4 wkts.

Pathare Prabhu Cricketers 36 all out, 21.2 overs (Ravi Vishwakarma 5/4, Sanket More 3/11) lost to Modern CC 39 for 1 wicket, 3.3 overs. Result: Modern Cricket Club won by 9 wkts.

Apollo Youngsters 225 for 9 wickets, 45 overs (Hrishikesh Sule 80, Poojan Raut 47*, Heramb Karbhari 30) beat Eleven 77 CC 183 all out, 40.1 overs (Akshay Shewale 43, Atharva Palav 36; Soham Pokal 4/45). Result: Apollo Youngsters won by 42 runs.
