Young Comrade CC beat Mumbai Police in Kale Cup’20

Mumbai, February 22:  Young Comrade CC produced a combined all-round performance to record a comfortable 40-run victory against Mumbai Police Gymkhana in a second round match of the Kale Cup T20 Cricket Tournament for C and D Division teams and played at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan.

Sent in to bat, Young Comrade made 160 for 5 wickets in 17 overs. Anish Choudhary once again was the star batsman scoring 63 runs from 41 balls, which included seven cracks to the ropes and two sixes. Mayuresh Tandel cracked 46 runs from 25 balls with two boundaries and four huge sixes. Mumbai Police’s Amit Pandey picked 2 for 37.

Young Comrade bowlers were a disciplined lot and did well to restrict Mumbai Police Gymkhana to 120 for 9 wickets in 17 overs and complete the win.

Only Swapnil Kulaye 39 runs from 31 balls (4×4, 1×6) was able to get some runs. Parag Mestry (3 for 18) and Taranjit Singh (3 for 18) bowled tidily to keep the rival bastmen in check.

Anish Choudhary was declared ‘Man of the match’.

Brief scores: Dadar Union Sporting Club 178 for 9 wickets in 20 overs (Sagar Chhabria 49, Khizar Dafedar 44; Aquib Qureshi 4 for 29, Karsh Kothari 3 for 25) beat D.Y. Patil Sports Academy 170 for 5 wickets in 20 overs (Bravish Shetty 65, Srujan Athawale 49). Result: Dadar Union Sporting Club won by 8 runs.

Man of the match: Khizar Dafedar (Dadar Union).

 

Payyade Sports Club 185 all out in 19.1 overs (Raunaq Sharma 37, Akhil Harwadekar 31; Saksham Jha 2 for 30, Varun Joijode 2 for 33) lost to Shivaji Park Gymkhana 189 for 6 wickets in 20 overs (Gandhar Bhatwadekar 45, Siddhesh Kinlekar 37; Raunaq Sharma 2 for 43).

Result: Shivaji Park Gymkhana won by 4 wickets.
