42nd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Tournament: Vaibhav Rawal hits 102*; Rampal Academy defeat ITC Maurya by 7 wickets

With the help of fine bowling by medium pacer Aakash Sudan (4/49) and left arm spinner Sunil Dalal (3/27) and fine 120 runs partnership between Vaibhav Rawal (102 not out 7×4 4×6 b77) and Milind Tondon 50 (2×4 2×6 b69) Ram Pal Cricket Academy move into pre quarter final of 42nd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015 as they easily defeated ITC Maurya by 7 wickets in the first round match.

Ram Pal Cricket Academy skipper Puneet Bisht won the toss and invited ITC to bat first. ITC batsmen except Pankaj Joshi (30) and Rohit Sharma (61, 9×4 b71) failed to face the pace and spin attack of Ram Pal Cricket Academy scored only 194 runs in 40 overs by losing 9 wickets. Mihir Dhawan (27 not out (4×4 b35) and Rohit Malik 25 not out (2×4 2×6 b20) added 45 runs for the 9th wicket in last 7.3 overs.

Earlier ITC lost first 4 wickets for 21 runs but Pankaj Joshi and Rohit Sharma added 85 runs in 19 overs for the 5th wicket. Medium pacer Aakash Sudan bowled well and took 4 wickets for 49 runs in 10 overs. Left arm spinner Sunil Dalal took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 8 overs in which 2 were maidens. Rohit Dubey and Khandvil took 1 wicket each.

In reply RPCA lost the wicket of Aakash Verma at 5 runs of the bowling of Rohit Malik. They lost 2nd wicket of skipper Puneet Bisht at 23. After that Man of the Match Vaibhav Rawal and Milind Tondon played a good knock and put on 120 runs in 18.1 overs for 3rd wicket and helped their side to score the needed 195 runs in 30.1 overs by losing 3 wickets. Vaibhav Rawal remained not out with 102 with the help of 7xz4 4×6 b77) and Alam was not out with 23 runs. Milind Tondon scored 50 runs with the help of 2×4 2×6 b69). Pacer Rohit Malik took 2 wickets and left arm spinner Mohit Sharma took 1 wicket for ITC.
