45yr Old Rajesh Paghdare takes an impressive fifer vs Dahisar Youngsters in the ongoing Kanga League 2017

It is rightly said that age is not a bar when you have the will to play and talent to back it up. Sanath Jayasuriya played cricket till 38, Misbah-Ul-Haq retired just recently at 40 and so many more names just proves the fact. One more player who is defining this trend is 45yr old Rajesh Paghdare who is certainly giving youngsters a run for their money.

Played at the L.I.C Cross maidan in Mumbai, it was a match between two upcoming & promising teams namely Regent CC & Dahisar Youngsters where in Dahisar won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Regent CC made a decent 183/8 before they declared after playing 38.1 overs. Opener Pattrick Allen and Prakash Aswani top scored the innings with 45 & 66 respectively. Slow left arm bowler Sagar Dugaonkar was the lead bowler coming up with impressive bowling figures of 5/44 in 14 overs.

In reply, thanks to some good bowling, Dahisar Youngsters were reduced to just 175/all out in 75.1 overs. 45yr old right arm medium pacer Rajesh pagdhare defied the odds and proved age is just a number as he bowled excellently well against players younger to him taking 5/23 in 9 overs which also included 4 maidens. In the 2nd innings, Regent CC made 64/4 in 21 overs before the end of the game’s play where Regent CC won the match on 1st innings. Regent CC boys performed nicely but it was Rajesh Paghdare whose bowling was the highlight perfomance of the match.
