Held at the LIC Ground in Mumbai, it was a crucial league match between two promising teams namely BARC Trombay & Young Zoroastrian’s XI where trombay boys won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of making a big 1st innings score.
However, it wasn’t the best of the decisions for them to bat first as BARC Trombay were all out for just 99/10 in 36.1 overs. Slow left arm spinner Aditya Jadhav impressed one and all with his effective bowling taking 4/17 in his 11.1 overs which included 6maidens. That was certainly a promising spell which troubled the batsman to the hilt. Aditya also got good support from Sajjad Shaikh who took 2/13. Opener Nisar Shaikh & Nutan Goel were the only batsman who crossed their score in 20’s or else all the batsman struggled to make a mark.
In reply, Young Zoroastrians made 166/10 in 52.4 overs in their 1st innings garnering a healthy lead. Opener Aditya Pabalkar was the highest scorer with a solid 46 while Trombay pacer Naeem Khan bowled a fantastic spell of 6/35 in his 19.4 overs which included 7maidens. Trombay made 167/10 in their second innings where in Aditya again the picked up 2wkts while Young Zorastrians won the match by 7wkts scoring 101/3 in 17.4overs in their 2nd innings.
It was a tough fight given by both the teams while Young Zoroastrians had the upper hand. Naeem Khan & Aditya Jadhav’s bowling was certainly appreciation worthy which took everyone’s notice & Cricketgraph wishes all the boys for a great cricketing year ahead.
