It was the 1st knockout match between Chandrakant Patkar School Dombivali vs MCC(Maharashtra Cricket Club) at Santosh Sports Cricket Academy in Kalyan, Thane. Maharashtra Cricket Club won the toss and decided to capitalize on the opportunity by batting first and posting a huge total.

Unfortunately things did not go in their favor as MCC were all out for just 113 runs in 28.3 overs. Apart from their opener Pradnyabudh who scored a 37ball 31, no one was able to make much of a difference to the scoreboard. It was also collectively some good bowling which took the game in Dombivali’s favor. Right arm medium pacer Atharva Temkar was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/14 in 2 overs. It was a good short spell and gave breakthroughs when it was needed.  Shantanu Wani was another one who bowled a nice spell taking 2/10 in his 3 overs.

Chasing 114 was a cakewalk for Dombivali and their batsman did the job comfortably chasing the score in just 17.2 overs. They also won the match by 5 wkts. Atharva who had already done a good job with the ball also contributed with the bat. Atharva and Tanmay Mende remained unbeaten and finished the chase in style. Atharva Temkar scored a gutsy 52* off just 43 balls & smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes. Tanmay also remained unbeaten on 23* off just 22 balls.

It was a good win for Dombivali and Atharva Temkar was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant all-round contribution. Cricketgraph wishes both the teams as well as Atharva all the luck for more progress in the coming matches of the tournament.
