Captains, Siddhesh Jadhav and Jinit Pasad, dazzles but there can be only one winner

It would be remember as captain’s match!

Both the captains, Siddhesh Jadhav of St. Marys and Vinit Pasad of VPM played great knocks for their schools in the Harris Shield Plate Group ‘C’ final match. While Siddhesh dazzled with a great knock of 182 runs in the second innings, Captain Jinit Pasad showed his class with both bat and ball and great temperament in chasing stiff target.

Requiring 344 to win in the second innings, VPM gave a scare to St. Marys but fell short by 22 runs when the play was called off. VPM were 321 for 5 when the play ended after 67 overs. Jinit Pasad scored an unbeaten 142 off 143 balls. VPM Mulund had one more centurion, Deepesh Hemdev who scored 109 runs.

Earlier in the day it was the other captain, Siddesh Jashav who scored scintillating 182 runs in his schools score of 267. Even though the match ended in a draw, St. Mary school was declared the winner based on the first innings lead.

It was on of the great matches of Harris Shield plate division which will be remembered as a captains match for a long time to come.
