India Blue Team with two wins qualify for the finals of the Target Cricket League 2017
Played at the Bhavani Niketan Sports Ground at Jaipur in Rajesthan, India Blue clashed with two teams namely India Green and India Red to decide who will enter the finals of the TCL tournament.
The 1st match was between India Blue and Green where in India Green won the toss & elected to field first. Batting first India Blue did a decent job as they scored 114/9 in 14 overs. Alok Kumar (24 off 21) & Shivam Yadav(28 off 18) were the top scorers while Himanshu Chittoriya was the pick of the bowler taking 2/9 in 2 overs. In reply, India Blue bowlers bundled out India Green for 82/all out in 13 overs winning the match by 32runs. Alok Kumar with 4/20 in 3 overs was the star bowler and was also adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his all-round show.
The 2nd decider match was between India Blue & India Red where in India Red elected to bat first. India Blue bowlers once again did a commendable job as the opposition to just 65/5 in 10 overs which is always chaseable. Mandeep Singh with 3/8 was the lead bowler. In reply, India Blue openers once again chased down the score quite comfortably as they won the match without the fall of any wickets by 10wkts in just 6.3 overs. Opener Sumit Kumar smashed a match-winning 41* off just 21balls which also made him ‘man of the match’. With two wins, India Blue qualifies for the finals of the TCL 2017.
