Jayant Satghare scores the fastest ton of this year’s Kanga while Yogesh Choudhary scalps 6wkts in the Kanga League 2017
Played at the Youth’s Own Union at Cross Maidan in Mumbai, Mangrol CC & Bluestar CC clashed against each other where in Bluestar CC won the toss & elected to bowl first considering the vulnerable weather and pitch conditions.
Their decision to bowl first was quite spot on as they restricted Mangrol CC to just 129/all out in 42.1 overs. Apart from their opener Sandesh kadam (44 off 66b), not a single batsman managed to create any impact. From the bowling side, it was off-spinner Yogesh Choudhary who castled the batsman with his effective spin coming up with impressive bowling figures of 6/34 in 13 overs (3 maidens). Yogesh bowled in the right areas consistently while he also got good support from the other bowlers.
In reply, Bluestar CC did an equally good job with the bat too as they scored 145/6 before they declared their innings in 19 overs. The batsman who took everyone’s notice was certainly their opener Jayant Satghare as he scored a blistering 100 off mere 49balls at a strike rate of 204 which included 10fours and 8sixes. Right-handed Jayant literally toiled with the bowlers and counter attacked them making it one of the most entertaining and fastest tons of this year’s edition of the Kanga League. Mangrol CC ended their 2nd innings at 50/5 before the end of the game’s play where Bluestar won the match on 1st innings. The highlight perfomance of the match was certainly Yogesh and Jayant’s individual performances.
