Rugved scores an attacking 89 while Rohan Bane and Aashay smash half centuries to steer Souvenir CC to a win in the Kanga League ‘17

Played at the United Cricketers, Cross Maidan in Mumbai, it was a match between Souvenir CC and Sportsmen CC kalyan where in Sportsmen CC won the toss and elected to bowl first expecting the pitch to have something for the bowlers.

Made to bat first, Souvenir CC did a good job as they scored 256/5 in 60.5 overs. Right handed opener and Souvenir CC’s most experienced player Rohan Bane finally came back into his elements as he scored a counter attacking 65 off 43balls(6fours, 3sixes) which developed the positive momentum.  Rohan attacked the bowlers at will while Rugved Chaudhary at no.3 continued in the same style as he went on to score 89 off mere 69 deliveries (12 fours, 1six). Rugved kept the scorecard ticking while also shared two good partnerships with Rohan and then Aashay Palkar who scored a brutal 65* off just 37 balls(7fours, 2sixes). Aashay looked in a completely different zone as if he was given the license to go for the kill!

In reply, Souvenir CC bundled out Sportsmen CC Kalyan to just 119/all out where in slow left arm spinner Akshay Ambike bowled an excellent spell taking 5/22 in 10 overs which did the maximum damage while medium pacer Aashay chipped in with 3wkts making it an all round perfomance. Sportsmen CC were given a follow on and batted for 11overs till the end of the game’s play. Souvenir CC won the match on 1st innings and it was an overall good perfomance by the whole team and especially Aashay, Rohan and Rugved who impacted at large.
