Sandeep’s 54 & Karan Nandey’s all-round performance steers Nirlon to quarter-finals win of the RCF T20 Corporate Tournament

Western Railway & Nirlon clashed for an exciting encounter at RCG Ground Chembur for the all important quarter-finals match. Western Railway won the toss & elected to field first & put Nirlon under pressure by restricting them to a low total.

However, Nirlon batsman did a good job with the bat & managed to post 167 runs on the board in 20 overs. Opener Sandeep Kunchikor gave a good start with his solid 54 off 45 balls which created a good momentum for them followed by a quick 10 ball 20 by Karan Nandey. Rahul Lad also scored 27 off 20 balls followed by a quick 13 ball 22* down the order by Abhishek Srivastava which pushed their team total to a respectable 167/7 in 20 overs. Atish Walinjkar & Sagar Mishra were the pick of the bowlers taking 2/22 & 2/38 respectively.

Chasing 168, Western Railways managed to bat well but fell short of 18 runs in the end. It was also some good display of bowling by the Nirlon boys which restricted them from chasing the score. Right-arm medium pacer Karan Nandey who had scored a quick 20 also chipped in with bowling figures of 2/20 in 4 overs followed by 2 wkts each for Ankit revandkar, Ankur Singh & Gaurav Bengre.

Nirlon won the match by 18 runs & Karan Nandey was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his all-round contribution in the match. Cricketgraph congratulates them for their win & wishes them to continue their good performance till the end of the tournament.
