Madhav Mantri Tournamant has been quite a success as it has witnessed some terrific performances from talented cricketers. One such match was between Ravi Shastri’s XI & Sachin Tendulkar’s XI at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana in Mumbai. Ravi Shastri XI won the toss & elected to bat first.
Batting first, Shastri’s XI could not capitalize on their opportunity of batting first as they were all out for 203/10 in 51.1 overs out of which Piyush & Vaidik were the highest scorers with 39 & 37 respectively. Left-arm spinner Asif Shaikh & Parikhsit Valsangkar were the pick of the bowlers scalping 4/42 & 4/73 respectively. In reply, Tendulkar’s XI made 217/10 where in Siddarth Akre scored a solid looking 122 off 144balls smashing 15fours & 4 sixes in it. Right-handed Siddarth looked quite composed and solid at the crease while the rest of the batsman were not able to score runs freely. Left-arm spinner Shubham Pandey bowled a mesmerizing spell of 6/91 which played a huge role in restricting them to 217/10. In fact Shubham also took a hat-trick which proved to be quite denting for Tendulkar’s XI.
In 2nd innings, Shastri’s XI were again all out for 201/10 in 49.1 overs where Vedant Murkar was the highest scorer with a breezy 85. Asif Shaikh on the other hand took a fifer (5/57) taking his tally of wkts to 9 in the match. Parikhsit was also equally effective as he also again took 4wkts. However, Tendulkar’s XI fought back and chased down the lead and won the match by 7wkts scoring 203/3 in 40.4 overs with Kushal & Deepak scoring half centuries while talented wicket-keeper Mehboob shaikh remained unbeaten on 31*.
Tendulkar’s XI won the match & highlight of the match was certainly Asif & Parikhshit taking 17wkts together to Siddarth Akre’s ton while Shubham’s fantastic spell of 6/91 ending in a losing cause. Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team for their win while wishes luck to all the players for a great cricketing year ahead.
