TUSHAR MORE’s 44 ball 82 helps Tata Steel Tarapur win in the Tata Inter Company Cricket Tournament

Over the years every teams have been blessed with openers like Sehwag, Gilchrist, Gayle & Mccullum who give wonderful starts at the top of the order. Their sheer presence makes the bowlers get nervous & when they hit the ball, it stays hit. Such was the sort of innings displayed by Tushar More for Tata Steel Tarapur & by Kastubh Pawar for Tata Capital at the Fort Vijay Ground, Mumbai.

Tata Steel Wire Division Tarapur won the toss & elected to bat first as the wicket was good to bat on. It was an aggressive start right from the word go given by their opener Tushar More. Tushar scored 82 off just 44 balls & smashed 10 glorious boundaries & 2sixes at a strike rate of almost 200. No.3 batsman Sairaj Patil also looked good as he smashed 46 off just 32 balls. The rest of the batsman below Sairaj crumbled with Ketan Meher being the only one to cross 15 runs with a 16ball 31. Star player K.P(Kastubh Pawar) was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/41 followed by 2wkts for Parikshit. Tata Steel managed to score 192/7 in 20 overs which is a good score any day.

Chasing 193, it was a tough fight given by Tata Capital as they lost by just 6runs. Tata capital managed to reach 186/6 in 20 overs & almost sealed the match. Star opener Kastubh Pawar smashed a regal half century at the top of the order scoring 76 off just 43balls (7fours, 4 sixes). He was also supported well by Sachin Yadav who scored a brisk 35ball 42. However, the rest of the batsman could not capitalize on the start given by the openers and lost the match by 6runs. Slow left arm spinner Brijesh Gharat was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 2/23 in 4 overs followed by a wicket each for Sairaj, Jayesh & Tushar Gharat.

It was a commendable victory for Tata Steel Tarapur & some great individual performances from K.P & Tushar More. Cricketgraph congratulates Tata Steel for their win while also wishes both the teams to continue playing such good cricket in the coming matches of the tournament.
